I left college with very impressive grades and embarked on what is now a successful 25 year career in the Beauty industry. I started work at a local well-established Beauty Salon; there were only a few around at that time. I soon developed an excellent reputation amongst customers for the standard of treatments I provided and still have clients now who I continue to treat. I specialised in electrolysis (hair removal) at the Goole hospital and worked on medical referrals and transgender patients.
Later I trained as an FE teacher and secured a teaching post at local top-performing Selby College where I still teach part- time sharing my skills and expertise in Beauty Therapy and Nail Technology.
Most recently I am proud to say I have achieved my ultimate goal and have qualified as a permanent make-up artist. I trained with the outstanding industry leaders Nouveau Contour and I can honestly say it has been the most challenging training of my whole career but I love to see how cosmetic tattooing can change people’s lives for the better.
At a very young age I knew I wanted to be within the beauty industry, from doing makeup and hair, however my favourite thing was doing nails and creating intricate patterns. I then started at Selby College and my thirst for nails only grew!
Being incredibly creative anyway I knew that doing nails was going to be ‘my thing’, and to top it off Andria Savill was the fabulous lady who taught me. She widened my view on the nail industry showing me 3-D nail art and playing with different colours to create new effects. I will always remember her calling me her “mini-me” which I loved because she was totally my nail idol. Naming me her “star student” (which was a very big deal) only made my passion grow as I then created my own business, doing mobile nails, building a client base and meeting new people. It was amazing knowing that my hobby was very quickly turning into my dream job.
Escalating incredibly fast my client base only grew and I contemplated working at salon to get even a wider range of clients, and then as if by magic Andria asked me to come work at Refine, of course my answer was yes! The new salon environment and new client base is wonderful, I love being at Refine as its almost like a dream come true working in a salon doing my most favourite thing.
Ashleigh decided to train in the beauty industry to gain her valuable foundations which were a necessity to then go on and develop her chosen specialism.
Her specialism turned out to be lash and brow treatments which she offers now in the salon. Alongside this she does provide other beauty treatments and is fully qualified in the full range of Caci non surgical face treatments we offer.
Ashleigh is very ambitious and is always embarking on new training to keep up to date with new trends and treatments that are constantly launching
